Back in the Clouds

Well the sunshine that I was so excited about has once again escaped us here in Seattle.

The foggy grey/grayness is back.

I feel sorry for our yard.  If you've been playing the House Home Game for a while you'll remember that we spent most of last spring and summer transforming our dying, ugly grass into lush raised flowerbeds.  Flowerbeds that did not fare very well over the winter.  That are filled with dead / dying plants and weeds.  If only we could get a sunny day on the weekend......but no, the forecast still calls for a 90% chance of rain tomorrow.  Saturday, the one day a week that both Chris and I have off together.  The one day that we have blocked out so that we can take Jet to the dog park and then work in the yard.  90% chance of rain.  Time to do a sun dance I suppose to push that 10% chance of not rain into the lead......

Sadly I'm not much of a dancer.

Hello Sun!

Oh my goodness it is so good to see the sun out.

Of course I could have done without the layer of ice that covered my car this morning.

And the fact that the sun hurt my eyes as it glared directly at me on my drive across I-90.

But you won't hear me complain (if you ignore those last two lines).

The sun is out and my desire to play hooky has heightened.

Of course the forecast for Saturday says 90% chance of rain.  Wouldn't want us Seattlites getting used to this crazy glowing orb!

Gray / Grey

Did you know that it really doesn't matter, you can spell it either way.

"Grey (International and some parts of the U.S.) or gray (Some U.S. only – see spelling differences) describes the tints and shades ranging from black to white. These, including white and black, are known as achromatic colors or neutral colors. In recent years, "neutral colors" had been reclassified. These "new" neutrals have low colorfulness and/or chroma on the color wheel."

Is the gray/grey getting to anyone else?  I'm ready for some sun.

There was a report this morning on NPR about how we are all Vitamin D deficient.  Yes, it is good that we aren't subjecting ourselves to skin cancer as much, but that we aren't getting enough Vitamin D anymore.

Guess it's time to get some new vitamins.

I'd really rather just have an hour to lay in the sun......too bad it is 43 degrees and gray/grey here today.

Sounders Win! 3 - Nil!

Words can not even begin to describe how incredible last night was.

I  have pictures, and will download/upload them soon.

Sounders fans were out in full force.

The crowd was amazing.
The band was awesome.
The team didn't disappoint.

The MLS has come to Seattle and it was everything we'd been dreaming of.

I have no voice today:  there was yelling, screaming, and chanting.

Let's go Sounders!

Let's Go Sounders

Tonight, after waiting oh so long, is the first game of Seattle Sounders FC.

Tickets are in my purse.

I'm sitting at work, trying to concentrate, and I just keep hearing the Emerald City Supporters chanting in my head!!

Go Sounders

Sounders 'til I Die

I'm Sounders 'til I die
I'm Sounders 'til I die
I know I am, I'm sure I am
I'm Sounders 'til I die

More Jet Photos

I haven't posted any new photos of Jet lately. I finally downloaded a few that I've had on my camera for a while.

The first few are of Jet enjoying the car seat his Grandma Skewis got him for Christmas:

He loves being able to see out the car window as we drive around. Yes, he's spoiled.

And here are some from the last Boston Terrier Meetup we attended at Westcrest Dog Park in West Seattle. Jet loves attending these meetups and running and running in circles with the other Bostons:

More Snow

Why are all of my recent blog posts about how it is snowing in Seattle? I should be talking about exciting things like yard work and BBQ'n, but no, the snow just keeps falling.

Huge flakes are falling here in West Seattle and we have an inch or more that is sticking on the ground. Now if only it would snow 6 or so inches tomorrow morning so that I have an excuse to work from home.

Wishful thinking I'm sure.

Guess I'll cuddle up with Jet and continue to watch Season 2 of The Wire.

Can't complain......life is good.

Snow

It has snowed here in Seattle on and off all weekend.

One minute the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the flowers
are blooming, and the next we're in the middle of a blizzard.

Yesterday we took Jet to meet up with Dutch and Hunter at Westcrest
dog park. The entire time we were there it was cloudy, gray, and
dumping snow. Then, when we left the sun came out and it was
beautiful!

Gotta love Seattle in the spring!

Daylight Savings You Upset Me

I'm not a night person.  Ask anyone who knows me.  I get up early, and go to bed early.  I like to get things done in the morning and relax at night.

Daylight Savings upsets me.

I could care less if it is light out until 9pm at night, I'd much rather it was light out at 6am when I'm out walking the dog.  I'd also rather it were light out for my commute to work.

Yeah, I know, in a few months this will all be a mute point.

Yet, this weekend we will "spring forward" another hour.  Just when we're almost to the point where daylight is peaking through on my dog walks.

I curse you Daylight Savings.

The Wire

I have discovered The Wire.

A few weeks back we upgraded our cable/internet/phone to a bundle and it includes HBO, and HBO On Demand.

On Saturday afternoon I found that the entire first season of The Wire was available On Demand.

Over the next 30 hours I watched 10 episodes (yes, they are 1 hour each......you can do the math).

I'm totally addicted.

I'm a little worried that the vocabulary they use on the show will surface during my work life.  Chris will tell you it has already surfaced at home.

I only hope that HBO On Demand will soon have season's 2-5 or I'll be heading over to Amazon.

I'm totally addicted.
