Bonding

Jet won his grandparents over in about 2 seconds. As you can see, everyone got along swimmingly!

First Casualty

Well we knew it would happen. Jet would get into something that we didn't want him to. He doesn't chew on furniture, he hasn't tried to 'mark' inside, but he did decide that Pound Kitty should be his.

For those of you who don't know, Pound Kitty is Percy's toy. Percy picked this toy out of a pile of stuffed animals in my room the first day I brought him home. He has carried it around ever since (10 plus years now). Pound Kitty rode with him on the plane to San Diego, and back. Pound Kitty was banished to the closet after Percy was accidentally shut in there for 2 days. Pound Kitty is Percy's best friend.

Here is the result of Jet playing with Pound Kitty. Percy is pissed off.

Percy's Post

If Percy could talk, this is exactly what he'd be saying right about now. While he is adjusting sort of to the new dog, he would still very much like it if he just fell in a hole and died. Poor P-man.

Oh Man! My Dog Wears Clothes....

Yep that's right. We got a short haired dog that shivers like crazy when out walking this time of year. So yep, he wears sweaters. At least we got him a trendy NW fleece rather than a puffy rapper coat (truly, those were the two choices we had). His clothes cost more than mine!

But damn, he's so cute!

Accidents

Well the new dog hasn't had any accidents in the house yet, but I did step right into cat puke when I got up this morning.......

JET!

This picture was taken minutes ago. I'm sitting on the couch flanked by the sweetest snoring Boston Terrier ever. Jet has joined our family!

The kitties don't know what to think of him quite yet. Ares is very curious. Percy, as usual, is pretty pissed off.

I'm still in shock. I can't believe we have a dog.

Change of Plans

Yesterday I was chatting with Chris before he left for work. He was asking what I had planned for the day. I told him I was thinking of taking a long walk, going to a movie, and finishing my book. So, what did I actually do? I painted the bathroom.

Would someone please take away my paint brushes. Please.

Today we pick up Jet! The kitties have no idea what they are in for. I'm pretty sure Chris and I don't fully know what we're in for. Zoinks!

This Is Going To Be Interesting

So when I posted last I was totally kidding about how the cats were going to react to the new dog we'll be bringing home on Friday (!!). But look what I found in the new dog bed:

Whose House Is It Anyways?

We're thinking about getting a dog. Actually we're driving to Ferndale (which is apparently north of Bellingham) today to meet one. This is exactly how I envision the cat's reacting to a dog in the house:

Kiki Supermarket

While riding the cable car in San Francisco we passed my supermarket. Apparently I carry Gourmet Coffee Muffins and Donuts.

Foo Fighters!

I forgot to mention one of the best parts about Dreamforce 2008, the Foo Fighters! They played the Global Gala on Monday night. And boy did they put on a great show, well except for the part where Dave Grohl kept calling us all "F**kers".

A woman came up to me before the show and said "Are you here alone, I am too, maybe we can hang out." So we did, and we had a blast. We enjoyed the free cocktails, and pushed our way to the front of the stage to rock out to the music. Fun fun fun times!

Neil Young - Dreamforce 2008

One of the best things about Dreamforce is the amazing speakers that they draw. This year Neil Young was in attendance to speak to us about LincVolt. LincVolt is attempting to build a zero emmissions auto that would elimitate re-fueling and generate power to the home when it is parked. If you haven't heard of LincVolt yet, take a look at their website (which Salesforce.com is building for them) and see the amazing things they are doing.

At the conference I sat about 5 chairs away from Neil Young before it was his turn to speak:

Here he is on stage with the LincVolt and Marc Benioff of Salesforce.com:

Pretty inspiring.

Dreamforce 2008

November 1st - 5th Chris and I traveled to San Francisco for Salesforce.com's annual Dreamforce conference. As usual the conference delivered....big time! I learned, networked, ate, drank, and was very merry.

The week before I went to the conference I took a certification test for Salesforce.com. I have been an administrator of the application for over 5 years now but was still surprised by how difficult the exam was. Talk about obscure questions! Luckily I passed and was one of the first 500 individuals to become certified on the application.

My name was displayed on this awesome sign at Dreamforce:

Close up (too bad I'm not longer actually with this company, but I'm still certified!):

And here is my nifty logo I can add to my email signature:

Oh Hi!

How is everyone? Yes, I know it has been ages since I posted anything. It is weird not to sit in front of a computer for 8-10 hours a day. And I'm REALLY enjoying it. Of course mostly I've just been painting, and playing Wii....

But now I'm going to bombard the Internet with random posts about things I've done the past couple of weeks. Wheeeee.....

Blogger Slacker

I'm a blogger slacker.

I have tons that I want to say.....but I can't seem to get my thoughts in order.

Between the job search, conference in San Francisco, and the AMAZING election my thoughts are just a jumble of emotion. So I'll spare you dear Internet of my crazies right now.

Oh, and we're thinking about getting a dog. Apparently I have plenty of time right now to get it adjusted. We'll see how that goes.
