Really?

Anyone else watch the Republican Response to Obama's speech last night and just think "Really?".

Did I Ask For Your Commentary

Seriously, some people just blow my mind.

On Saturday we took Jet to the dog park.  He had a blast as usual.  We even heard him bark for the first time since we got him.  It was a weird, guttural bark, but a bark none the less.

After the park we decided to stop at QFC to get sandwiches.  I ran in while Chris waited in the car.

I walked up to the counter and ordered Chris a club sandwich.  The first thing that the lady said to me was "I don't know if we have everything for that".

I thought to myself "Umm....you're a deli, in a supermarket....really??".

Then she proceeded to make his sandwich, by reading the list from the back of the menu, and slowly.....oh my goodness so slowly assembling his sandwich.  After about 30 minutes of making his sandwich she finally handed it to me stating "These aren't really a very good deal".  Um...thanks.

So then I ordered my sandwich.  After watching the ordeal that was Chris's sandwich I said "I'll just have a turkey and cheddar sandwich on sourdough".

She looks at me and says "Do you know how much that costs? That's even a worse deal than the other sandwich you ordered."

I just stared at her.

"Is that really what you want?"

I just stared at her.

Then I turned and walked away.

Weekend Recap

Wow this past weekend flew by.

Friday after work we went out to West 5 for dinner, stopped and picked up cupcakes for desert, and went home to watch the new Battlestar Galactica and Joss Whedon's new show Dollhouse.  Both were excellent.  I love how Joss always uses his "people" and how awesome Eliza Dushku is.

Saturday we took Jet to the dog park.  Jet LOVES the dog park.  He ran, and ran, and ran, and ran.  He met a cute little white dog and they chased each other in circles for a half hour at least.  He also met two French Bulldogs that I wanted to take home, and a couple of Corgi's that could live with me too.  As much fun as the dog park is for him, I think it is just as much fun for us.  I love meeting all the dogs and bragging about how awesome Jet is to other owners.

After we completly tired him out we dropped him at home and headed downtown for lunch at Palomino, drinks at Mexico, and a viewing of Twighlight at Pacific Place.  I didn't really have high expectations for the movie so I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable it was.  After the movie we headed back to West Seattle to Beveridge Place for a nightcap and some Cribbage.   I won both games.  Go me.

Oh, and Chris got me a BBQ and 5 lbs of Gummy Bears for Valentine's day.  My husband rocks.

Yesterday I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned the house and then emailed a bunch of cleaning companies for quotes.  I'll spend my lunch money on a cleaning company if it means I don't have to dust ever again.

And here it is Monday and I'm back at work.  Seems like everyone I know has today off, except me.  Oh well, at least I still have a paycheck coming in!!

Hello Friday!

Can you believe it is Friday already?  I can't.  Where did the week go?

Ever since I started this new job I come in, sit down, work like crazy, and look up to notice it is time to go home.

Time is flying.

It is good to be busy and productive.  After a year of being bored and not much use.  However, I hope I'm not missing the world going by.

In other news, a really good friend of mine was laid off this week.  After 25 years with the same company.

Stupid, lame, hate you economic downturn.

He's awesome though and will land on his feet I am sure.

But boy does that suck.

I'm holding onto my job with both hands and my teeth.

Snow in the City

I'm sitting here at my desk watching the snow fall in Bellevue.  Of course on the 9th floor it is snow, on the ground I hope it is rain.  Not looking forward to my commute home tonight at all.  When it snows in Seattle, Seattle shuts down.

Random

Sometimes I think of things that I want to blog about, and in the 5 minutes between that thought and actually beginning to type I completely forget what it was.

This was one of those times.

In other news my friend Christy posted another picture of Jet.

I have made that picture the background on my computer.  In tile.  So everytime I look at my desktop his little face is there looking at me saying "Mom, leave work and come home to walk me.  Oh, and lets go to the park.  I love the park."

Last night was the end of Old Heavy.  He's a Sony TV that I ordered from Crutchfield in 2001.  He's the heaviest darn TV you've ever met.  He was actually warping the new cabinet I had him perched on.  So, we replaced him.  Slim is our new TV.

RIP Old Heavy.

Secure Your Load

Today I followed a truck to work that was spewing cardboard boxes and plastic wrap all over I-90.

Not once did the truck slow down, even though lots of cars were honking and swerving, etc.

They'll be in for quite a surprise when they arrive at their destination and realize that they don't have anything left on the bed of the truck.

Shesh.

Jet's First Boston Terrier Meetup

Yesterday we took Jet to his first Boston Terrier Meetup at Westcrest Park here in West Seattle. This was actually the first time we'd taken Jet to a dog park.

He had the best time ever.

He still doesn't understand when other dogs bark at him. He just stares at them like they're crazy.

He also doesn't like to rough house. He mainly just stands with his chest inflated in his show pose.

Oh, and he doesn't mind being humped by other boy dogs at all........
