Another Photo Filled Post

Finally got off my lazy butt and downloaded the pictures from Christmas. Here are some of my favorites. You can click on any of them to see the entire album on Picasa. Awesome memories!

The snow in Portland was amazing. This pile was taller than Sadie!

Christmas Eve Dinner. Jeff and Sara cooked up a storm the entire day. It was amazing!

Ella knit Jet his very own scarf.

He loved it!

The Santa Pimp hat that Uncle Chris brought with him was a big hit.

Getting all bundled up to help me walk Jet.

Percy received a new Pound Kitty for Christmas. Took him about 2 minutes to fall in love with it.

Post Christmas Pre New Years Post

Hi, yes I haven't blogged in a while. This will be totally random.

Did you hear about snowpocalypse? It hit, big time. And I was stuck at home a lot. And crabby. And didn't feel like anyone wanted to hear about that. But now the snow is gone and I'm free to roam about the city on my own again. Hippy Horray!

Lets see. What has happened since I last blogged besides the snow.

I was supposed to take the train to Portland for Christmas. The train was canceled. My parents braved the snowpocalypse and picked me up and carted me to Portland with them. Chris arrived in Portland safely the next day with Jet. He was a huge it. Of course. We celebrated Christmas with my brother and his family, and then with my sister-in-law's family.

Presents given: Sweaters, boot warmers, Wii games, Hobie kayak sail kit, books, clothes, Woof-Poof Santa, PJs, etc.

Presents received: PJs, compost pail, curio (still waiting on delivery!), cookbook, cookbook holder, Kid Robot purse, socks, Cashmere Mist, dusting slippers, Prince Caspien, Weeds (1-3), car booster seat for Jet, yoga bag, amazing quilt, etc.

On Friday we made it safely back to Seattle, and actually went to the grocery store! After snowpocalypse our cupboards were pretty bare. Saturday we ventured south again to Olympia for Christmas with Chris's family. I made a yummy pumpkin cocolate chip cheesecake and we had a wonderful dinner.

We're so fortunate that even with the horrible weather and crazy mixed up travel situations we were able to spend some quality time with both sides of our family and experience the true joy that is the holiday season. Yeah, I can be mushy when I want to.

I have pictures, I always have pictures, but I'm lazy and haven't downloaded them yet. I will soon. First I need to find a good cup of coffee. My coffee maker ist kaput and it is making me surly

Argosy Christmas Ship Festival 2008 - Round 3

Last night we ventured over to Kirkland before the storm hit to ride the Christmas Ship with Matty and Renee. As we made our way to the boat the first flakes began to fall. By the time we made it to our second choir stop at Madison Park it was really coming home. Luckily Sebastian (our Subaru) is a great snow car and we made it home safely. As soon as we arrived home the high winds started and we watched the blizzard from the comfort of our living room.

I'm pretty sick of this weather now. Thanks.

Really Friends

The 4 inch gap is gone. They are really friends now!

Almost Friends

Ever since we got Jet, people keep asking me how he's getting along with the kitties. Well, as you can see from the photo below, he and Ares are almost friends. I'll consider them really friends once that last 4 inch gap between them is gone.

Percy of course is still pissed off and hiding in the other room.....with his faceless (yes both eyes and the nose are gone now) Pound Kitty.

Ice Sculpture

On a walk last night Chris, Jet and I came across an bear ice sculpture at the end of our block. Take a look. Those are real Trout in its belly!

And because he's so cute, here's another picture of Jet in the snow!

Snow Day!

It is snowing here.

Lots and lots of snow. I say about 6 inches. Chris says more like 4. Either way it is snowy.

A car almost slid into ours on the street in front of our house. We're not going anywhere.

Jet loves the snow. I mean, really LOVES the snow. Just check out these shots:

Now he's passed out next to me. Exhausted from all of the fun.

It is beautiful out. I'm thankful I don't have anywhere I need to be.

Argosy Christmas Ship Festival 2008 - Round 2

Saturday night we met Angie and Brandon downtown for the early sailing of the Christmas Ship. We had a blast, as usual. We sailed up to Pier 66, across to Seacrest, and back to Pier 55. Luckily the high winds we'd had earlier in the day calmed down for our voyage.

It is hard to believe it is December 16th already and I've only been out on the Christmas Ship twice. Time really does fly.

Here are a few of my favorite photos from the voyage:

Playing In Portland

I spent most of this week down in Portland hanging out with the cutest nieces ever. What did we do you ask? We played. And played and played.

We played Mousetrap, we painted, we put together puzzles, we did flips, we played on the swings and we snuggled on the couch.

Good times.

Bad Luck with Good Timing

Yesterday I had a run of bad luck.

I went to leave Costco and noticed I had a flat tire.

Luckily I was parked near the tire center, and we'd purchased the tires from them.

There was a 7 hour wait to get the tire fixed, but they did it for free.

Bad luck.....good timing.

Big Hit

We took Jet out yesterday and showed him off. We walked around Lincoln Park and were stopped I can't remember how many times by people wanting pet his cute little smushed face. Then we took him to the pet store where he was ooh'd and ahh'd over.

Boys listen up, if you want to meet ladies, borrow my dog. Trust me.

Argosy Christmas Ship Festival 2008

'Tis the season for the Argosy Cruises Christmas Ship Festival. Amazingly enough I've only been out once so far this year. Usually by now I'll have been out at least 2 or 3 times. With everything else going on I haven't had time to plan multiple outings.

But, I did manage to drag Lynn out last Sunday night for a 2.5 hour cruise of Lake Union and Lake Washington. We left from the South Lake Union area, cruised around to Madison Park and back. We enjoyed music by Seattle's own Captain Smartypants. Fun times! I hope everyone has the chance to get out and enjoy the Christmas Ship Festival this year. It is a wonderful tradition!

*phew*

Where does the time go?

I've been unemployed for almost 4 weeks now and I've been busy, busy.

Why don't I just sit around in my PJs eating bon-bons?

Yesterday I had 6+ hours of interviews. I have a bit of a cold, so by the end I could barely talk. I have one more hour of interviews today and I will know the verdict of this opportunity. I'm hoping for the best, but in this economic climate I don't think you can truly count on anything.

Yesterday, driving to the interview, I was listening to NPR. They were interviewing people that work at various service organizations around the Puget Sound that assist families in need. The soup kitchens are running out of soup, the shelters are out of shelter, and the food banks are out of food. Talk about a dismal situation. I showed up at the interview ready to drop myself to their feet and beg them to take me. I didn't, but boy I felt like it.

Did you know Christmas is coming in 20 days? I brought all of my decorations up from the storage closet and they are sitting in the living room. I hung the stockings, but that's about it. Today we're going to get a tree. We think. And I will probably try to hang the outside lights. I can't seem to find the motivation.

This weekend we have a Christmas Party on Saturday night (8th annual!!), and I'll be attending a open house/cookie decorating party on Sunday that I'm really looking forward to.

Hopefully these events will get me in the Christmas mood!
